About Calm & Courage

Calm and Courage is a toolkit of nurturing, life-affirming and adaptable practices inspired by nature and trauma-sensitive Yoga. 

Including moving meditations, still meditations and guided deep relaxation, these resources are designed to reconnect you with your innate courage and calm.

Choose what you need at any time from 5 chapters that reconnect you with your:

  • calm groundedness

  • centred strength

  • fluidity and ability to adapt to change

  • sense of spacious calm

  • open-heartedness

All practices can be downloaded and kept. 

All moving meditations are slow-paced and within an easy, everyday range of movement. Most are 40 minutes long, and there's also a 20 minute moving meditation ideal for mornings or busy times.

The guided still meditations are around 10 minutes long and designed for both beginning and experienced meditators.

We use breath awareness, and inspiration from nature to replenish and to restore calm and courage. You don't need visualisation skills or access to any special yoga equipment. If you can breathe, you can  benefit from these nourishing practices.

I am available within the Calm & Courage platform to answer questions and help you with any challenges you might encounter, and you're welcome to reach out at any time. You'll remain enrolled for the  life of the resource and will be included in any ongoing updates.

My way of teaching and practising is gentle and easy-paced. After all, many of us have already had lots of practice at pushing ourselves and rushing around, and we don't need any more of that. My practice over the years has been an oasis for me, a calm centre in the midst of change and challenge. I spent my younger years in stress, chronic illness and pain, so every day I appreciate the mental and physical ease that my practice has given me. I'm so grateful I can share this practice, thanks to the lineage of teachers who have inspired me with their wisdom and knowledge. The moving meditations I offer are within a normal range of movement. The power of the practice comes from mindfulness of the breath and in cultivating kind, non-judgemental attention. I've been a Yoga & meditation teacher as well as a food grower for more than 16 years, and a nature lover my whole life. I'm deeply interested in how both our practice of yoga and our belonging with nature can support, comfort, nourish and inspire us in these challenging times. I'm inspired and nourished by the nature and landscape of the melurkedee land of the palawa people that I live and work on (in the Huon Valley) and I respectfully acknowledge the palawa/pakana people as the Traditional Custodians of lutruwita (Tasmania). I pay my respects to elders past, present and emerging and acknowledge that sovereignty has never been ceded.
